Pseudomonas species are common environmental bacteria found in water and soil. Some species, such as Pseudomonas fluorescens, can act as opportunistic fish pathogens, causing hemorrhagic septicemia, ulcerative lesions, and fin rot. Infections are more common in stressed or immunocompromised fish.
